DUFF MAP!!! This week marks the debut of Duff Map on Soil Field Study. Each student gets a small 5-inch square frame to place somewhere on the duff and make a map of what they find inside. Cue Card Cue Card Images

I could tell you a lot of reasons why I love the combination of map making and science, but here are 3:

It’s a way to collect data, and make information visible
It’s a way to practice drawing and design without worrying about if it “looks perfect”
It reminds you that even in a very small space, there is so much to pay attention to.
